2nd edition of Mr Arunachal to be held in December
ITANAGAR, Nov 23: The Arunachal Body Building Association (ABBA) has decided to organize
the second edition of State Level Body Building Championship -
With Chief Minister Nabam Tuki as chief patron, the event will include competitions in six weight group categories; up to and inclusive 55 kgs, up to and inclusive 60 kgs, up to and inclusive 65 kgs, up to and inclusive 70 kgs, up to and inclusive 75 kgs and above 75 kgs, informed ABBA vice president and organising committee chairman Nabam Jose.
Mr Arunachal will represent Arunachal Pradesh in the 6th Eastern India Championship slated to be held at Imphal on January 4 and 5 next year, the chairman further informed.
Besides officials from India Body Builders Federation (IBBF0s, a host of body builders of national and international fame are expected to take part in the event.

ITANAGAR, Nov 23: The Arunachal Pradesh Football Association today informed that the trials for the state football team will be held at the Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy at Chimpu on November 25 next from 12:30 PM. APFA general secretary, Doke informed that APFA president and former MP Takam Sanjoy will also be part of the selection team.
The NE Games are scheduled to begin here on December 10 next.

Assam govt to prevent terrorism
Guwahati, Nov 23: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today said his government was able to prevent the spread of all forms of terrorism across the state and that it would firmly deal with any Jihadi group.
"Our government has been able to contain all forms of terrorism following a slew of security measures," Gogoi tweeted.
"We'll also deal very firmly with jihadi groups and foil their sinister designs to set up base in Assam," he said in the microblogging site.

The MoS made the statement at his North Block office on Nov 21 while appraised by a team of All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union led by President Kamta Lapung on the contagious problems of stapled visas issued to people from the state, the long pending boundary issue with Assam and continuous incursions by China into Arunachal.
The AAPSU team consisting of Lapung and spokesperson Tanya Agu after briefing the MoS on the issues also submitted a memorandum for early and concrete solution to the problems.
AAPSU release informed that, Rijiju after paying a patience hearing gave his positive assurances to the issues raised.

The brave Indian martyr remembered
ITANAGAR, Nov 23: A wreath laying ceremony was organized by 15 SIKH LI under the aegis of 22 Infantry Brigade at Ketinala, Upper Subansiri district to commemorate 52nd Death Anniversary of Havildar Sire Thapa.
Thapa was part of a protective patrol of one platoon located near Rio Bridge in the Upper Subansiri valley. On 18th Nov 1962 at 1500 hours about 200 Chinese troops came in contact with Thapa’s party.
Havildar Sire Thapa fought bravely and killed approx 160 Chinese soldiers before he succumbed to his death. He delayed the Chinese advance to nearly 72 hour. The brave actions of Sire Thapa won the hearts of locals of the area who still hold him in vary high esteem. Even the Chinese recognized his bravery. The Chinese buried his dead body with an inscription in Chinese script appreciating the fighting spirit of Havildar Sire Thapa.
His mortal remains were brought to Limeking and last rites were performed and a grave was built there.
The great soldier is highly revered in the area for his gallant act. To pay the tribute to the legend, the wreath laying ceremony was organized. The gaurd of honor was given in the presence of the Colonel Satyasheel Baber, Deputy Commander, 22 Infantry Brigade and various other dignitaries. The ceremony was also attended by 200 civilians of nearby villages including GB’s of Limeking, TCC and Orak.
Massive eviction drive at West Siang
Aalo, Nov 23: The West Siang district administration ultimately took a bold decision, on Saturday to evict all structures falling within a radius of 6m on both sides of the road from Nehru Chowk to Pakam Tinali where two lane CC Pavement roads will soon be executed by the Public Work Department.
The requirement usually for such road is 18m but relaxed to 12m for the time being to avoid large scale damages.
The day long drive went off without any stiff opposition affecting 5 RCC buildings, one SPT, 25 CC flooring in front of commercial and residential buildings, two CC steps of RCC buildings, five OBT houses, ten roadside hawkers, two iron gates with CC pillars, 7 boulder and CC walls, many iron angled fencings etc.
More than 20 structures were found to be self demolished. ADC cum Estate Officer Tamik Talom, DLR&SO Pumek Ronya, Town Magistrate M. Kakki, EE PHED Er. Toni Ete, AE PWD Er. Dukjum Lona, former MLA Talong Taggu, in charge police team SI T. Gadi, JEs, LM staffs, ALCs, PHED pipe fitters, PWD Department labors were involved for nine hours.
The step was necessitated to start the road construction work to do away the deplorable road condition of Aalo Township and supportive citizens behind the demolition in their quest for development are a good sign.
Similar drive will be taken up in sectors and colonies where roads, CC drains and culverts have been sanctioned without any compromise and rollbacks for the general welfare of the town dwellers. The self demolition notices to all sectors have also been issued by the DC cum affiliated authority to maintain the required distances as per the notification issued by Department of Urban Development and Housing especially for Aalo township road within ten days from date of issue of notice. Administration has made it clear that any construction works should be done as per the laid down rules in the allotment order issued to each individual to avoid such problems in future. (DIPRO)

Tawang, Nov 23: Parliamentary secretary for RWD, Jambey Tashi joined the celebrations at the 4 day Palden LhamoTorgya festival at Marmang Gonpa in Dundunghar circle yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, the parliamentary secretary and the local MLA exhorted the huge gathering of devotees on the vitality of preserving culture and tradition. He expressed his gratitude to the abbot of the monastery for initiating the festival and providing a platform to the far flung villages of the circle to come together and showcase their culture and tradition.
“With the youth of the district dazzled and blindfolded with the blaze of modernization, our most treasured asset is in the verge of extinction” he said.

Former abbot of Tawang monastery, Reverend Gyalsey Rinpochey called on the devotees to follow the teachings of Lord Buddha and practice it in daily life. “Practice non violence and do not envy others achievements, rather rejoice their success and strive to emulate it” he preached.
Abbot of the monastery, Reverend Jampa Chonjor, who is believed to have founded the monastery in his first incarnation, spoke eloquently on the importance of art and culture while informing that the festival will be made an annual event.
Earlier, Reverend Gyaltse Rinpochey bestowed Tsewang (blessings for long and prosperous life) to the hundred of devotees from across the circle and the neighbouring country Bhutan.

Crime against NE people in Delhi rises
NEW DELHI, Nov 23: Crime against people from North-
According to data compiled by Delhi police, till November 15 this year, it has received a total 847 calls out of which 645 calls were related to crime.
Police converted 139 of these into FIRs. The number of FIRs stood only at 74 from the people of this region last year.
The highest complaints numbering 259 were received from South Delhi district followed by South East which stood at 53.
The lowest number of calls, six, were received from North East Delhi district. The

These days everyone appears eager to flaunt their RSS card in the present dispensation.
It is a well known fact that RSS and BJP shares an integral relation like that of
mentor-
Herein lies the problem. The BJP is a political party and its leaders are free to
meet and consult anyone and everyone, including the RSS. But, what about bureaucrats
and officials of autonomous institutions who are trying to be in good books of the
Sangh? They should not be looking for Sangh and its chief for favours or policy directions.
It is a disturbing trend. Already, the RSS imprint is becoming more pronounced in
running of the HRD ministry. As things stand and if this trend continues, there is
a possibility that the RSS may become the new National Advisory Council (NAC) and
Mohan Bhagwat its Sonia Gandhi. Development of dual power centres have not proved
good in the long run. Sooner or later, there is bound to be a tussle. The onus is
completely on the Prime Minister. He needs to dispel the impression that if the RSS
wanted something to be done, it would be very hard for the government to ignore it.
These are still early days. How Modi handles the RSS may decide his legacy and the
future of his government. As of now, the government has changed but some remnant
of diarchy is there. The quest for RSS-

The Landing Ground (LG) & dropping zone of Singa Camp has not seen maintenance since last 5 years due to which in 2013, the pilot accidentally drooped things upon the PWD JE quarter Singa & destroyed the quarter along with the DSPT phone. Therefore, the people of Singa camp highly request the PWD department to post staff immediately for maintenance of the LG & dropping zone so that such incident does not occur in future. We also request them to restore the DSPT phone as early as possible.

Dear Editor,
Referring to the editorial “Lack of professionalism hurting growth of football” published in your daily on November 11, 2014 let me firstly congratulate Todo United FC on their famous win over Mohun Bagan Football Club. While the euphoria is on, I hope I am not a party pooper here.
Footballing greats and legends all over the world including the likes of Peles, Ronaldinhos and our own Indian legend I M Vijayan etc. were able to make it big despite enormous personal obstacles and lack of opportunities because they loved football from their heart and had the dream to play professional leagues and become world champions.
Love for the ball has always been there among our youths but unfortunately, the youths of Arunachal never had the motivations and the dreams to play at bigger stages because football itself was never big in India. However, now that Indian Super League has revolutionized the footballing scene in India, our youths can dream of “been there, done that”. Parents too can now support and encourage their kids to play football because it can now be a profession/employment. Paisa bolta hai!
Another aspect that is crucial for success in any sports is the culture of the game itself. Arunachal never had. It has to now create the culture and discipline which guides and motivates the young players. We have seen enough how child prodigies of the game end up being drunkards, wasting their skills to parties and in being small town fallen celebrities. The Football and Players Associations have begun to inculcate discipline among players. Kudos to them! The ‘crorepatis’ of Arunachal can patron clubs that are run in a professional manner rather than just sponsoring/organising ‘memorial cups’. They can help built a culture of professional football in the State.
That leaves us to the point as to how much can or should the State do. Well, ideally
not but since Arunachal is still a nascent State a lot depends on the State. While
being realistic, here is the wish list; mini stadiums in every district, football
academies in at least 4 districts, induction of qualified sports teachers in schools,
and training/exposure tour for the young kids. The recent effort to involve experts
from outside needs to be continued and sufficient sports materials for the school
kids across the State needs to be ensured since many of them still plays barefooted
and kicks around stitched-

Need of Marriage law
Dear Editor,
Long gone are the words of the great philosophers that marriages are made in heaven, so is the sweet marital bliss. Today if you happen to look around your locality, one happens to see lots and lots of divorces, second, third, fourth marriages. You really don't know when your dear ones will be dumped by so called sadist. There are so many people around who in garb of raising family marry again and again. They try to defy all odds to fulfil their lust. These people just don't realise the fact that how much they are willingly hurt their dear ones. Some people try and blame it as customary. But tell me where the documentations are. No customs in any civilisation permits to bully ones family. To me, the whole explanation is farce, it’s just lust. We all must have witnessed the grief stricken families who really never recovered from their state of being left away by their dear ones. It's just disgusting to see all those sadist try and legalise their second, third, fourth marriages. Try what, they may, I think it's irreparable.
The damage has been done and it will take long long time to heal. If at all it happens, I am sure a scar deep inside is going to stay behind and any wheel of justice cannot erase the scar. So many times, organisations have come up to abolish polygamy from the face of our state. I might be wrong, but to me no organisations have taken the issue seriously. Instead of creating dramas, I suggest the organisations to ask the legislative assembly to directly amend Hindu Marriage Act in our state. Tribal laws are good but not really inspiring and commendable. All these village level guidelines are revocable by any wealthy individual. So a prime marriage law is needed in the state to get rid of these social evil, otherwise one day every family in our state will bleed. If our state is heaven, then there are tears in heaven.
